Several common mechanical wire drawing methods

2024-04-23

Surface drawing processing methods should be selected according to the requirements of the drawing effect and the size and shape of different workpiece surfaces. There are two ways of drawing: manual drawing and mechanical drawing. There are several common mechanical wire drawing methods: flat pressure abrasive belt wire drawing, non-woven roller brush wire drawing, wide abrasive belt wire drawing, centerless grinding wire drawing, and polishing machine wire drawing.

Flat pressure abrasive belt drawing

Flat-pressure wire drawing is a very common wire drawing method. The workpiece is fixed on the mold, and the grinding abrasive belt runs at high speed. There is a pneumatically controlled pressing block on the back of the abrasive belt that can move up and down. After pressing down, the abrasive belt sticks to the surface to be processed for drawing. The equipment commonly used is a flat-pressure belt sander. Flat-pressure wire drawing is suitable for small-area flat wire drawing surfaces and is widely used in wire drawing of digital camera casings, mobile phone casings, etc. The lines coming out of this drawing surface are usually straight lines with continuous lines. Due to the use of abrasive belts, a wide range of particle size ranges can be selected, so you can use coarse-grained abrasive belts to process rough, obvious hand-feeling lines, or use fine-grained abrasive belts to process more delicate silk patterns.

Nonwoven roller brush drawing

The workpiece is transported by the conveyor belt through the non-woven roller brush, and the roller brush rotates at high speed to draw the surface of the workpiece. When drawing, you can use two methods: roller brush vibration and roller brush non-vibration. At the same time, different processing speeds can be used to produce lines of different lengths. Vibration non-woven roller brush can produce very uniform discontinuous silk patterns (short filaments); Non-vibration non-woven roller brush can produce continuous silk patterns (long filaments or straight filaments). This drawing method can be suitable for large-area drawing, and is becoming more and more widely used in magnesium/aluminum alloy panels and keyboard boards of notebooks, LCD frames and battery covers of mobile phones, camera protection plates, camera slide plates, etc.

Wide abrasive belt drawing

This drawing method is the most traditional drawing method, used for flat drawing, and is especially suitable for sheet processing. The abrasive belt rotates at high speed, and the plate passes through the abrasive belt on the conveyor belt for polishing and drawing. Stainless steel plates, aluminum alloy and other plates are usually made into semi-finished products for drawing, so that they can be further made into products using plates as raw materials, such as stainless steel elevator door panels, stainless steel counter, aluminum alloy chassis, etc. The lines drawn in this way are usually very thin and short, which requires the abrasive belt to have better adhesion so that the line effect of the board can be more uniform.

Centerless grinding drawing

This is a centerless grinding method for drawing. The used abrasive products are non-woven wire drawing wheels or abrasive belts. Suitable for round tube-shaped workpieces, such as handles and handles. The threads drawn in this way are usually short threads. The length of the threads is related to the rotation speed of the workpiece, the rotation speed of the grinding product and the grinding product itself.

Polishing machine drawing

It just uses the speed of the machine to drive the nylon wheel and polishes the product through manual technology. Suitable for irregular electroplating products.
